After not having seen my namesake since graduation, over 30 years, Jeff visited me in my restaurant only three weeks before he passed away. We were never close outside of school yet we had a special kinship that I always enjoyed because we not only shared the same first and last names and attended the same school, we also grew up on the same street! We often got each others mail and phone calls, and in an effort to sort it all out had to distinguish ourselves as the "tall one" or the "short one". I am the tall one in terms of physical appearance, but Jeffrey W. was hardly short when it came to kindness, warmth and good humor. I was very saddened by his passing and think of him often.
