Steve sat next to me in homeroom at Heights. It was a scene from "Welcome Back Kotter" very loud and confusing. I remember Steve as a quiet and thoughtful guy, just taking it all in. Later I bumped into him at the hospital where I was working and he was getting treatment. I never knew at the time just how ill he was. He was still so sweet to me even though he was sick at the time. I will always appreciate his kindness and his friendship during our days at Heights. May G-d bless him and his family.
