I was at the "Riviera" getting my phd in Casino mgt, counting room trying to get my union card to play in the pit bands.

He literally bumped into me years later,  working his way up later at The Aladdin, Casino, and he told me he just got promoted and was named Food and Bev Manager, of the Aladdin Casino.... I was so damn impressed.

at the Aladdin, F & B Manager for The Aladdin,  which in Casino Speak, is a very high respectable, trustworthy, and in Casino Languate,  the job had a "lot of juice",  power and connections;  and

respect,  just before he passed.  I told him so, and I think he appreciated that, he was a known mgt level guy;

at such a young age, and he

paid his dues in the Gambling Industry;  having respect of "The Boys".

I told him he had a lot of street cred.....after having gotten that job at ....The Aladdin.

Hey Samuel, greetings and thank you for the great u tube postings on Guys and Dolls show 1969; I was playing lead trumpet in orchestra for McElfresh's hip production Guys and Dolls; we all knew it was semi-pro at the time, and much more dedication of time, talent the best for the all school production, listening too it is remarkable the level of talent and performance. The band program and politics of that music department and its insecure directors was a mickey mouse joke in comparison.
McElfresh's productionwas as close to Pro as anyone would be in, so I jumped at it, the records are great, and u-tubes still clear, hot and professional, per the movie, with Sinatra. tku vm.
McElfresh told me, Man, just play....he really turned me on the Vegas style shows.
I think Renee (lead singer) went out to Vegas first for a lounge act at the Desert Inn, I heard, and Ted Skorman Oklahomas, and Guys stage manager, followed her that year after, to be drummer for Liberace:and I followed as fast as possible in 1974-75 after my first tour ended at the Sahara with a Lounge Act from NY. I tried to look up Renee, but missed her, she was in a few lounge acts.. Such talent.! They called Cleveland then, Liverpool USA, with James Gang,Grand Funk, Ojays, Eric Carmen,.North Riverstreet, al All the best, Lance Goldberg

Lance Goldberg:

Grew up with MM, Marty, we were on teams,  from Day Camp Northwood,   we were best friends, in the same Wiley classes.  I got Dad to trade for him, as relative, first thing,  since he was a Tris Speaker Manager,  to get Marty on our team with Alan Feldman and a bunch of ringers so I wouldn't be fool at 3rd base. (I stunk)

Marty 3 years younger than older kids, in league,  but he had balls, and he walked on field first practice as Rookie and took over Short Stop,   He OWNED THE SHORTSTOP spot, he was that good.  glasses or no glasses like me.   Lol.  Everyone on team was in awe of him.

What a fantastic shortstop,  and hitter,  I was fortunate to play 3rd base next to him, 2 years, and jealous of his ability, drive, persaverance, and his humor.

Especially when we won a game, we got our 3rd base coach (A Deans Dairyman) to sneak us all in to the Depot at Deans, where he worked,  for free ice cream, as a bribe for every win......  Marty and I would slide rubber cleats up, to take out the kids to make sure we won, Hahahah,

He was a brain too, Straight A' s    We sat with Cliff Goodman, in homeroom period , and laugh at our Mr Ferry, (then Gay) teacher, pulling up his red socks and garteers, Lisping;  us laughing so hard,until we d and Cliff would just die laughing , at the schtick,  playing back and forth with Mr. Ferry....and his golfing stories and red socks....remember?  there was a Mr. Fay who swished, and Mr. Ferry, who was outrageous,  Im   still laughing with Cliff Goodman,  ( by the way Cliff was great too in little league, first Base)

Lost track of Marty when i was drafted by star athlete Joe Urban, and his Dads team in senior A League;

Joe Urban was star pitcher in senior A, and went on to Quarter Back at Heights,  what an Athlete he was!!!

 I didnt have heart to tell him I stunk.and I realised I couldnt even throw the ball to the plate, such a geek.

Marty Laughed so hard he chipped his tooth. thats when i ran to the trumpet quick, on MM  advise,

Marty smirking with his smile, 'Lance "at baseball, he said, you stink.....LOL."'
